Thanks to Andy Bee in Bournemouth who tipped me off to this 100-question quiz of 2009 on which has plenty of good, up to date 2009 material for quizmasters who need to have stuff from this year.

This is ideal fodder for those Heat-type questions which all you quizmasters are too busy being too grown-up to care about!

In other words, there are questions about SuBo and Gwen Stefani.

This website has been getting spruced up and updated for 2017.

After putting the site together in 2009, I kind of left it dormant. Consqeuently some of the older questions have drifted out of date or become less-relevant.

Having said that, a lot of them are still perfectly good questions. See disclaimer for guidance.

Anyway, I'm making the site a priority again so look out for lots of new questions.

In the last copuple of weeks I have added these pages:

Books (Multiple Choice)

Flags (Multiple Choice)

Questions in the new articles now come with extra info about the question and a link to a source, so you can check the question yourself.

Quick update on picture quiz pages, some new material for the ever-entertaining pictures of celebrities before they became famous.

Do you know who this lippy wee superstar is? It's a rock n roll thing.

If you want to know the answer, its with all the other new questions, see the bottom half of the Famous People - When They Were Young picture quiz page.

I have just finished a little bit of research to update the quiz calendar, during which I discovered, amongst other things, thatbeatles_help:

  • The Beatles dedicated their film 'Help!' to

New page on DP Quiz - just in time for your Christmas extravaganzas, I've added a page of Xmas questions to the site.

wacko_jacko_white_hatMichael Jackson, King of Pop died from a fatal situation the other day and immediately quizmasters everywhere wondered - "how will this affect this week's quiz".

To help out, I threw together some Wacko questions. Check them out here and Shambone to you, bad mofo!

I have promoted this sites links section to the the main menu so you can find other sites and resources of interest more easily

I like to see what

poshI have been tidying up the Entertainment section of the free quiz text questions which has resulted in a few new pages:

Entertainment - Film - Awards - Acting

Entertainment - Film -Taglines

Entertainment - Music - Songs - Firstlines

Entertainment - TV -Characters

Entertainment - TV -Settings

Entertainment - Radio

Entertainment - Theatre

The biggest addition is the Entertainment - Music - Songs - Firstlines page with 90-odd new questions. These questions are all first lines of popular songs (and some obscure ones too). Quizgoers love that tip-of-the-tongue feeling they get from lyric questions. Why not try some in your quiz.

Meanwhile, thanks to Alan Hazlie for pointing out that Scarey Spice had a baby before Posh Spice and was the first Spice to sprog. The question on this page has been accordingly corrected.

tape_measureUpdated: All the text-question articles under "Science and Nature", also known as the Green category in Trivial Pursuit.

Also, I have split the Science and Nature (uncategorised) questions, creating a new page for free quiz questions about measurement. This contains questions about clocks and calendars, centimetres and miles, dessert spoons and table spoons.

Have a look!

Dr Paul

desperate_danThis morning I have been updating the Art & Literature Category

The lengthy "words" page has been broken down by the introduction of a new slang page and a new page for questions about technical terms.

Also new is a page specifically for comics, magazines & newspapers, plus another sub-page of books, just for questions about authors.

So, do comics count as Art & Literature? Of course they do. The bloke who drew Desperate Dan had more art in his little finger than some of these so-called 'greats' that you get in galleries. Word up!

If you would like to contribute any free questions to the ever-growing DP Quiz database, do get in touch. I'm all ears.

lyric cloud quiz question

The first new picture questions on the site for a while are some interesting Lyric Cloud questions.

To make the pictures I used, which is a great little resource ofr making these kind of questions. I tarted up some of the images with the Gimp but the basic images provided by Wordle itself are easily good enough to use in your quiz.

the best tihng about Wordle is the fact that its a free service. They say you can use the images you create anywhere as long as you give them some credit.
